Year 1

Summer (encouraged)

Research: 5-week, laboratory rotation

End of Summer (required)

Orientation & Leadership Week

  • RCR/Biosafety training
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Trainings
  • Brown bag lunches with training faculty
  • Initiate myIDP

iPBS

Year 1

Fall Semester

Research: Two eight-week rotations

Curriculum:

  1. iPBS-Deconstruction of Research 563 (3 graded credit hrs)
  2. Discipline-specific course (3 graded credit hrs)

Participate in iPBS Leadership & Professional Series events

10 or more prior to advance to candidacy

Year 1

Spring Semester

Select lab, reselect program, form thesis committee, and initiate research

Curriculum:

  1. iPBS- Topics in Biomedical Experimentation 564 (1-3 graded credit hrs)
  2. Individualized degree-specific programs of study (up to 9 graded credit hrs)

Participate in iPBS Leadership & Professional Series events

10 or more prior to advance to candidacy
